Preconditions
- SOMA Smart Shades / SOMA Tilt devices have been set up in the Smart Shades app
- SOMA Connect has been connected to the network using Wi-Fi or ethernet cable
- SOMA Connect ID is known. Find out the SOMA Connect ID using the guide here
Setting up the Custom integration
The Custom integration supports voice commands and routines, no GUI controls are available in the Google Home app.
The Custom integration supports only English and German. In case the main language of Google Assistant is not English or Germain then follow the setup steps listed here. Default setup steps are as follows
- Send SOMA Connect app to your Google device
- Open one of the below links on a desktop device (these links do not work on a mobile device)
- Enter the SOMA Connect ID if asked
Setup steps for users who's Google Assistant main languages is not English or Germain
- Change the Google Assistant language temporarily to English or Germain using this guide
- This step is required otherwise sending the SOMA Connect app to your Google device fails
- Send SOMA Connect app to your Google device
- Open one of the below links on a desktop device (these links do not work on a mobile device)
- Enter the SOMA Connect ID if asked
- Change the Google Assistant main language back to the original language using this guide
- Add English or Germain as an additional language to Google Assistant using this guide
- Restart the Google device (unplug it from the power and plug it back in) for the language settings to take effect
Troubleshooting
If you get "Please check if you have entered valid SOMA Connect ID" error during account linking then restart the SOMA Connect by unplugging/replugging the power adapter and then try again.
